"The greatest single antidote to violence is conversation, speaking our fears, listening to the fears of others, and in that sharing of vulnerabilities discovering a genesis of hope."

Eagle Down Funds a School Library in Rural Kosovo
On 20 March 2007, The Eagle Down Foundation had the privilege of participating in the opening ceremonies of a new children’s library at the “Yusuf Rexha” Elementary School in the village of Koshtova, Kosovo.
This small project, funded by Eagle Down and World Vision Kosovo, was completely planned and implemented by the local chapter of Kosovo’s very successful Kids for Peace movement.
Fatmire Feka, a member of Eagle Down’s Board of Directors, had the wonderful privilege of speaking at the opening ceremonies which was attended by representatives of the United Nations Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), UNDP, UNICEF, the office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, the office of the Ministry of Education of Kosovo, senior municipal officials as well as local and international non-governmental organizations.
“Conflict is cyclical. The youth and children of today will become the leaders of our country tomorrow. Youth and children must be supported to build peace though education and they must be given the proper tools to learn. Without these tools and without formal education, we will miss an opportunity for the possibility of lasting peace by breaking the traditional cyclical nature of conflict. We hope that this small project will go a long way to helping educate the children of Kosovo and to secure that lasting peace” said Fatmire Feka during her speech.

Mr. Murcel Ibrahimi, President of the Municipality of Mitrovica cuts the ceremonial ribbon along with Eagle Down’s Fatmire Feka at the opening ceremonies for the children’s library at the “Yusuf Rexha” Elementary School.
